- I have recently purchased an additional hard-drive for my system, and
- decided it was time to increase the size of my workbench partion (wont be
- doing that again). I was running workbench 3.1 on a A3000
-
- I copied over all of the info to a different partion on my new drive and
- increased the size of my workbench partion and then copied all data back.
- Initially I did not have any problems, but I was only doing warm-boots.
-
- When I boot now, I get a workbench is not a dos disk error message. I
- think I have tracked this down to being a missing kickstart file. I have
- an earlier kickstart on disk, but it will not let me boot for workbench
- 2.1 up. I also have the later kickstarts in a compress format on disk,
- but when I insert them (uncompressed format), my machine does not read the
- disk - is there any way to get around this.
-
- As I have all the info from the drive backed up to another drive, I am
- not concerned if I have to re-install this drive, as long as my system
- will eventually recognise the other drive that is attached is a dos
- drive. when I use the info command, it knows the name of all my
- partions, and their sizes - so I assume that I have not yet lost any info.
-
- thanks for any help - long live the 3000
